Crimped KC nipple with groove are used with cam and groove crimp ferrule and Victaulic clamp. The width of crimping groove is normally 8mm. The ID of crimp ferrule depends on thickness of hose OD.
Crimped KC nipple with groove are used with cam and groove crimp ferrule and Victaulic clamp. The width of crimping groove is normally 8mm. The ID of crimp ferrule depends on thickness of hose OD. For example, for 8inch hose, ID of hose is about 203mm. OD of hose tail of KC nipple is about 203mm. The OD of 8” rubber hose is about 219mm if thickness is about 8mm. Therefor, ID of crimp ferrule is about 224mm. The thickness of crimp ferrule is 2.5mm. The OD of crimp ferrule is about 229mm.
We have to customize crimp ferrule for different thickness hose. There are many sizes of ferrules for one size rubber hose. When you buy KC nipple and ferrule, you have to inform us of size of your hose.
For Victaulic clamp, generally one size has several size clamps. For 4” hose, 108mm and 114mm Victaulic clamp are available.
The precise crimping ratio is about 25%-30%. That’s to say, for 2” hose -OD: 66MM, thickness of ferrule is 1.5mm, the crimped ferrule size is 64.5mm(30%). The crimped size can bear bursting pressure.
We produce crimped kc nipple in steel, stainless steel, brass and aluminum. Now 1/2” to 12” KC nipple can be produced.
